Manacaud Gopan is a Malayalam singer famously known for his devotional music. He studied in Vidyadhiraja school, Kerala, where he was known as a singer, although he hadn't officially started to learn. His father, Late Manacaud Narayana Pillai, was a well-known wrestler. However, he was very interested in classical music and would travel countrywide to attend Carnatic and Hindustani concerts. Even though he was a keen music lover, he was very strict and would not let Gopan learn music. After endlessly convincing his father, at last, he joined Late Devarajan Mater, an in-demand orchestra arranger and musician at that time.
Manacaud Gopan's career began in 1988 when he joined Devarajan's Ragashree Orchestra. He instructed Gopan to sing Tamil and Hindi songs as his voice was quite similar to the renowned artist S.P. Balasubramaniam. He started performing in the orchestra and later sang in various movies. Example- Vasanthathinte Kanal Vazhikal, Persiakkaran, Monai Engine Aanayi, and many more. Currently, he has done more than 250 devotional albums and eight movies. His family consists of his wife, Deepa S. Son, Goutham, working as a sound engineer and music programmer, and a daughter, Gauri, who is a 2nd-year student doing CS engineering.
