Ashiq Usman is a Malayalam producer and acted in a couple of movies during his childhood. He was born on 17th April 1986. He started his career in the film industry very recently. He has done his schooling at Seventh Day Adventist Higher Secondary School in 1999. He has done his high schooling at Sacred Heart Thevara. He graduated from CUSAT in 2008.

After graduation, he started working as an executive director at DFS Foundations and Structures Private Limited. But due to the passion towards the movies, he established his own production in the Malayalam industry. He commenced Ashiq Usman Productions in November 2012 at Kochi and became the managing director. He is also the CEO and Founder of Handmade Films. He was recently married to Khadija Mohamed Ashraf in December 2014.

He made a character artist role in 1997 which starred Jayaram and Divya Unni. In 2013, he produced his debut film Arikil Oraal. It is a psychological thriller scripted and directed by Sunil Ibrahim where Indrajith Sukumaran, Remya Nambeesan, and Nivin Pauly played the lead roles. This movie was produced by him under the banner of Milestone Cinemas.

In 2014, he produced a drama film directed by Boban Samuel and starring Jayasurya, Aparna Gopinath, and Lal. Chandrettan Evideya is a comedy film directed by Sidharth Bharathan starring Dileep alongside Anusree and Namitha Pramod in 2015. In March 2016, he produced Kali, a romantic thriller movie which had Sai Pallavi and Dulquer Salmaan in the main roles.It was directed by Sameer Tharir. He produced this film under the banner Hand Made Films. He settled with his wife in Kochi, India.

Tom George Kolath has donned not only the roles of director, actor, and producer in Mollywood, but also tried his luck in script writing. He is popularly known as Tom George in cinema. He came into limelight for his performance in Anna television serial. It was inspired by Tolstoy's Anna Karenina.The serial Anna was the child of cinematographer Alagappan. In 2004, George’s film Akale won him the National Film Award and also the Kerela State Film Awards for the best feature film in Malayalam.  Tom George had started his career in the year 2004, producing the Malayalam movie Akale. Akale was directed by Shyamaprasad. The film was selected for various prestigious awards winning many and also was recognized in international events like Fukuoka Focus-on-Asia International Festival held in Japan,  'Indo-German International Film Festival' in the city Bangalore,  'River To River Festival' in Florence in Italy, IIFK in Kerala state, and lastly in Tehran International Film Festival. The film featured actors the talented Geetu Mohandas, current heartthrob of Mollywood, Prithviraj, and Sheela. Out of all the awards that the film Akale won,  Best Feature Film in Malayalam at the 52nd National Film Awards by the then President Late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam was the most solicited award. The way the movie showcased the predicament of the characters who are caught in a terrible situation is praiseworthy. Tom had received this award for producing the film. His other notable works include Meerayude Dukhavum Muthuvinte Swapnavum, Black, Finger Print, Out of Syllabus, Gandhi Park, Lessons, Summer in America¸ Casualty and some more as a producer, director or actor. The commercials he did include Coral Group,  Keltron USA, etc.  George had helmed direction and jointly wrote Gandhi Park, a Hollywood movie.

Shyju Khalid

This 38-year-old cinematographer turned director had a great philosophy behind his frames. Right from his childhood onwards, Shyju Khalid always had an affinity for art. V.P.Khalid, his father was once a theater artist -and he played short roles in many films. He has done his schooling in Santa Cruz High School at Kochi. He took admission at St. Albert's College for graduationbut left the college shortly. He then met Aashiq Abu, and through him Sameer and the rest of film enthusiasts, all of whom are creating a new wave in theMalayalam Cinema. Shyju with Sameer started their career with wedding photography. His journey started assisting Sameer for the projects likeBig B, an action-thriller and Daddy Cool,a superhit flick. Shyju considers Sameer Thahir as his friend, philosopher, and a good mentor. He had shared Sameer’s vision for Chappa Kurishu, his debut asa director. It’s is next to impossilble to see any debutant craftfilms with such sensitivity butcinematographer turned director Khalid make this possible with the 5 Sundarikal. Anchu Sundarikal is an anthology of five movies by young directors. Salt And Pepper was one of the first major digital works in Malayalam Cinema which was a food genre cinematographed by Khalid. He has done a total of four cinemas till now. They are Idukki Gold(2013) which starred Babu Antony and Pratap K.Pothen, 5 Sundarikal starring Fahadh Faasil, Dulquer Salmaan, Kavya Madhavan and Nivin Pauly, Salt N’ Pepper(2011) starring Swetha Menon and Asif Ali, Traffic(2011) starring Kunchacko Boban and Sreenivasan. He says that he is not a fan of stylish frames just for effect. He thinks Balu Mahendar’s frames are the best especially his song sequences. He has done only five films till date and every movie is a masterpiece. He is still doing films as a cinematographer. He has future plans to co-direct with Sameer.
