Murukan Kattakada is a renowned Malayalam poet, born on May 25, 1967, in the village of Kuchappuram in Kattakada in Thiruvananthapuram district. He taught at SMV Higher Secondary School, Thiruvananthapuram for ten years. He was the anchor of the outstanding Doordarshan channel program 'Ellarum Chollan.' Under the Department of Public Instruction, he was the head of the victor's channel.
In 2021, he was awarded the Mullanezhi Award by Mullanezhi Foundation and the Avinissery Service Co-operative Bank. He composed a song called Manushyananakanam for the superhit Malayalam movie, Chop, and Mason, which won the award. His creative writing of songs made him admirable, and featured in many Malayalam movies.
He also edited the poems, Glasses, Baghdad, Suicide note of a farmer, Renuka, A Natthun song, Martyr, Unwakened Padma Theerthams, Hatred, The wait, Lost friend, Space, In memory of a soldier, The falling leaves said, Onam, Travel back, Orma rainstorm, Gooseberry, Goddess of nightmares, Watchtower, Debt, debt, indebtedness, Niralamban, Debt, The dog that climbed Rajghat, The rest, Shadows flying in the sun, Answer, The way the song comes.
