Girish Puliyoor

Girish Puliyoor is a native of Thiruvananthapuram. He is a renowned Malayalam poet and lyricist. Girish has composed title songs of more than 50 TV serials and has written lyrics for numerous musical albums. His famous audio album, Girish Puliyoor Kavitha Malhar, features him both writing and performing his poems. He was also honoured with the NA Kakkad award. Being a poet and reciter in Malayalam, Girish has published six poetry collections and an autobiographical prose work. He has also written a short story collection for children. Gireesh’s autobiography is about his upbringing in an Ayurvedic family, his observations of nature, and his poetic journey. Adding to his literary achievements, Gireesh has deep roots in Ayurveda. Hailing from the Puliyoor 'vaidya' family with a tradition spanning two centuries, he embraced the family’s Ayurvedic practice after the death of his father, Ayurvedic physician L. Sreedharan Nair. Gireesh runs the Puliyoor Herbal Centre at Panaikode, near Nedumangad, innovating his entrepreneurial spirit and traditional medicine.
