Kaveri Muralidharan, also known as Kalyani, is a South Indian actress and producer. She began her acting career as a child artist playing roles in various films. Her debut film was in 1986 in the Malayalam movie Ammanam Kili. Some of her other films that portrayed her as a child artist include Kakkothikkaville Appooppan Thaadikal (1988). Though she had been dedicated in her roles only in Malayalam movies, she took a chance of moving to other languages. And to her surprise, she was welcomed with both hands in Tamil and Telugu Film Industries as well. She had a great year in 2000 when she was starring in 2 Tamil films- Kannukul Nilavu and ‘
’. She gained appreciation for her roles, and thus, her market value increased leading to another three films in Tamil in 2001- ‘Samudhiram’, ‘
