Hakim Rawther is a prominent Indian actor and director in the Malayalam film industry. He was known by his stage name, Hakim. He came from Kottayam, Kerala and started out as a mimicry artist. Hakim is a member of Cochin Kalabhavan and was one of the first who joined the centre. From 1979 to 1989, he became a session mimicry artist along with K. J. Yesudas, a Carnatic musician and playback singer.
He was seen as a man from the mental hospital in the 1991 Malayalam film, Mookilla Rajyathu. Hakim made his debut as an actor through the film, Kakothikaavile Appupanthaadi, which was helmed by Jayaraj in 1992. Since then, he became a popular face in the director’s later films including the Mammootty-starrer,
, where he played as a member of drug mafia; Paithrukam with
and Jayaram in the lead roles; Arabia with Babu Anthony, Charmila and Anusha; and the Malayalam comedy film entitled Thilakkam, which stars Dileep and
in the lead roles. In 2003, Hakim was seen as Dileep’s friend in Vipin Mohan’s Pattanathil Sundaran. He also acted in Priyadarshan’s romantic comedy film, Vettam in 2004. In the same year, he did the drama film, Kaazcha, with Mammootty in the lead role and was seen as a street beggar in Lal Jose’s Rasikan. He also acted in Sibi Malayil’s Kisan in 2006. In 2011, Hakim has done supporting roles in Orma Mathram and reunited with Jayaraj in the drama film, Naayika. Besides acting, Hakim turned director in the Malayalam film,

, a singer and Ghazal writer. On September 5, 2013, Hakim died due to cerebral hemorrhage. He got admitted at the Kottayam Medical College Hospital and underwent treatment but died at 58.
