B. Saroja Devi is an Indian actress born on 7 January 1938 in Karnataka to Rudramma and Bhairappa.Her father worked in the Police department. B.Saroja Devi has acted in Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu movies. She debuted with the film Mahakavi Kalidasa in 1955 for which she won a National Award. She is also known for the longest career as the main lead female actress in Indian films for 29 years from 1955 to 1984.Kannada film 'Sri Renukadevi Mahathme', released in 1977 was Saroja Devi's 150th film in her career. She received the Padma Sri in 1969 and Padma Bhushan in 1992 from the Government of India.
