Splendid cinematography and great music add vigor to these songs. One concern is that all these songs except Nuvvostante were romantic ones. Why such partiality towards romance? All the same, here is a list of Telugu songs that had nature’s gift to the human being. 

Chitapata Chinukulu

How can a Telugu movie buff forget this song? This number from 1964 flick Aatma Balam is perhaps the first ever rain song in Tollywood. Ace actor ANR is seen sharing screen space with the spirited B Saroja Devi in this trend-setting song. The movie was also a commercial success, and this song was one of the major highlights of this flick. Veteran music composer K V Mahadevan took up the music composition for this flick. 

Aaku Chatu Pinde Tadise

This 1979 song will surely remain etched in the minds of Telugu fans for years to come. It had 'N. T. Rama Rao' and ' Sridevi' setting the screen on fire. The movie was also a commercial success, and this song was one of the major highlights of this flick. K Chakaravarthy composed music for this number.

Swathi Mutyapu Jallulo

This song from the 1990 flick Prema Yuddam is definitely one of our favorite rain songs. And not to forget the wonderful chemistry shared by the real-life couple Nagarjuna and Amala! This song was later remixed in 2013 flick Action 3D starring Allari Naresh.

Vaana Vaana

Eveyone knows that Chiranjeevi is an outstanding dancer and to see him dance in the rain is indeed a treat to the audience. Chiranjeevi and Vijayashanthi shook their legs in the rain song from the 1991 flick Gang Leader. Bappi Lahiri gave peppy music to this film.

Kammani vodi Bommani

Allari Alludu is a 1993 flick and the dashing Nagarjuna and Nagma shared screen space in the famous song Kammani void Bommani. With Kodanda Rami Reddy helming direction Keeravani worked on the music for the film. 

Rendu Vela Rendu

Young NTR and the bubbly Aarti Aggarwal appear in this rain number. This is from the flick Allari Ramudu. B Gopal is the director of the flick and R P Patnaik is the music composer. 

Vaana Vaana

This 2012 remix of Chiranjeevi’s popular number Vaana Vaana had Power Star Ram Charan and sizzling Tamannaah sharing screenspace. Mani Sharma composed music for this flick.


The title Varsham (the film got released in 2004) itself means rain, and you will surely get to see a rain song in this film. Nuvvostante is a beautiful song with Trisha gracefully dancing to the tunes of DSP.
