Raghu Samarth

Raghu Samarth is a director, who works in the Kannada film industry. Raghu started out in the film industry as an aspiring writer and slowly and steadily made his way into the film industry. Raghu used to write for TV shows, he wrote for soap operas and reality shows, one of them was Kannadada Kotyadhipati.

After making quite a name for himself in the TV industry, Raghu slowly ventured into film making, where he wrote a few short films, and then made his debut as a writer in 2015 for the movie Siddhartha directed by Prakash. Raghu wrote the dialogues on the movie, however, the script was written by the director Prakash. Siddhartha is a romcom about a boy named Siddhartha who plays guitar and sings, and his love interest Khushi, who is always possessive about him. His next movie was Jaguar, released in 2016 and directed by A Mahadev. Jaguar is an action movie about a medical student who is set to avenge the death of his father.

After two successful stints as a dialogue writer, Raghu had garnered enough knowledge and experience in how to make a film, and then in 2017, he made his much-awaited directorial debut with Smile Please Click to look into! >> Read More... . Smile Please was a success, which further cemented Raghu as a good director.

He then wrote dialogues for a movie called Rustom in 2019, right before making his passion project Law. Once again, written and directed by Raghu, Law is a film about a female student lawyer who fights her own case to acquire justice. The movie saw its release on Amazon Prime, during the press release of the movie, Raghu talked a lot about making this movie especially for women, as this has a female protagonist played by the super talented Ragini Prajwal. Law is produced by Puneeth, whom Raghu had known during his TV writing days as they used to work together on a show.
