Anand Vathar

Anand Vathar is an Indian director who is known for his work in the Kannada film industry. He has also worked as a writer for various movies and video shorts. Anand comes from the town of Gulbarga in Karnataka. He began his journey in the world of entertainment during his schooling when he would take part in the local theatre productions. He was inspired to be a part of films by many cinephiles around him. 

During his days in college, he was bitten by the literature bug, and he would often skip classes to write down his latest story rendition. After graduation, he took up a corporate job in HP to make ends meet. During his stint as a tech associate, he studied cinematography through an online film making course and he spent his weekends on film sets, observing the experts at work. He was met with a lot of disappointment during his initial attempts at joining the Sandalwood industry. His persistence finally pulled through when he got a job as a scriptwriter for a Kannada comedy show for Kasturi Channel. From there he went on to work as editor and director at ‘ZEE Kannada’ and ‘YourStory.in.’

He made his directorial debut with the 2016 movie, ‘Happy Married Life.’ Anand took charge of its writing and composing as well. He is also known for directing the film, ‘Shri Ganapati Bappa Morya.’ He has also written for several web movies and shorts during his career in cinema. Anand continues to seek out opportunities to develop his skills at the different facets of movie design.
