Thomas was one of the contestants on the reality television series Survivor, which premiered in 2000. The actress was a part of the reality show from 2015-17. The show abandons the contestants in an isolated place, where they must fend for themselves. They have to arrange for shelter, food, and fire, all by themselves.

The competitors have to undergo a series of contests including swimming, running, puzzles, and the ones testing their endurance. Based on their performance, they are voted out step-by-step until the last one is left who gets the title of Sole Survivor and is declared the winner.

Sierra was born on December 18, 1986, and was twenty-seven when she participated in Survivor: Worlds Apart, where she ended up in the fifth position. The actress is a barrel racer who lives in Roy, Utah. Before being a contestant on the show, Sierra had the honor of being the National Champion Barrel Racer. She was also an All Around Cowgirl in High School Rodeo and the National Champion in College rodeo.

Thomas also featured in the episode titled Sierra:Cowgirl! of Survivor: Ponderosa in 2017. The series, helmed by James Seale, featured Kassandra McQuillen, Aubry Bracco, and Lauren O’Connell.

Thomas also appeared in the television show The Price Is Right, where she features in the Primetime Reality Show Edition- Survivor in 2016 as the audience member. Although she did not compete in the show, the actress along with Ozzy Lusth helped with the prizes. Sierra also featured on Celebrity Fear Factor on MTV as a contestant in 2018.

The barrel racer exchanged wedding vows with Joe Anglim, whom she met on Worlds Apart, in 2019, and was blessed with a daughter named Della Dawn Anglim in 2021.
