Doug Plaut

Doug Plaut, born as Douglas Jesus Plaut, is an American actor who is known for his role as Terry in the comedy and drama Netflix show, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. He was born on March 18. Not much is known about his childhood except that he is a native of Greenwich in Connecticut. He is a liberal and does not associate with any religion. He has a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the Pace University; it was during his college days that he took to theater and plays.

He started pursuing his dreams of performance arts by training at the Upright Citizens Brigade located in Chicago. Doug is a multi-faceted actor and has performed in a variety of TV shows, films, and even stage acts. When he was pursuing his degree in Fine Arts, Doug started acting for the theater and became a member of the drama club. Doug played memorable roles as ‘Mad Animal’ in Marat/Sad, Frank in The Butterfly Collection, James Harthouse in a Hard Time, Roger Doremus in Summer and Smoke, and Henry Antrobus in The Skin of Our Teeth.

He then joined the troupe of Connecticut Free Shakespeare Drama Club and performed minor roles in Shakespeare’s great works like A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Much Ado About Nothing. He also did a benefit reading as Jonathan in the play “OH DAD,” written by Arthur Kopit in 1962, at American Heyday theater. He took on a role as John in the play “The Lion in Winter,” which opened at Colony Theatre Company. He moved from Theater and Plays to movies when had a cameo in Love on the Run. He continues to reprise his role as Terry in the Netflix original “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” and also in yet another Netflix original “Daredevil,” where he is a recurring actor through the seasons playing various roles. He plays a supporting role in HBO’s comedy TV series “Vice Principals.” He has also worked in the musical “Oliver!” He was a replacement for Eric Ulloa in the cast of Villian: De Blanks Space Hole at the Triad in New York City. The event at The Triad was a charity even where the benefits were to go to Humane Society of New York.

He was an ardent supporter of Hillary Clinton in the USA elections. He is an LGBT equal rights backer and participates in a few other philanthropic actions.
