Doris Roberts

Doris Roberts was born on 4th November, 1925, as Doris May Green, in Missouri, USA. Her mother, Ann Meltzer, who raised her, always hoped Doris would be an actor. As a child, she was always drawn towards acting and took part in various theaters in USA. She then decided and started her acting career with a role in a TV series called Studio One. She also worked on various Broadway acts. She had a huge fan following base in no time. She gave her best at everything she did. She started getting recognized everywhere for her work and achievements.

Even though she had already set her marks in her acting career, she didn't leave her education behind. She also went to college for a fine arts doctorate from the University of South Carolina. She was very well applauded for her achievements for which she won various awards like the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

She then married her long time love interest, Michael Cannata, with whom she had her one and only child who she then named Michael Cannata Jr. This was in 1957. Her son then had three kids. She later divorced Michael Cannata and married William Goyen in 1963.

Doris Roberts also worked as an advocate for animals as she hated animal cruelty that was going on in the country. She didn't stop spreading the love for animals and she was also a very active participant at the AIDS foundation for children, serving a role of a chairwoman.

Doris Roberts suffered from Leukemia and it was revealed later that she was also a victim of hypertension. Doris Roberts took her last and final breath on 17th April, 2016. Even a few of her co-stars were there on her memorial held at New York. She died at the age of 90, but she left behind a huge inspiration to everybody by her hard work and entertainment. 

She always said she belonged in the cinema and she made all her dreams come true.
