Big E

Ettore Ewen, known as Big E in the wrestling world, is a professional wrestler and powerlifter. He was born on March 1, 1986, in Tampa, Florida. He is the son of Jamaican and Montserratian immigrants. He attended Wharton High School in Tampa, where he achieved many athletic honors, including a state championship in High School Wrestling and, he received the name of Hillsborough County’s “Ironman of the Year”. He then attended the University of Lowa for the American Football Team Lowa Hawkeyes as a defensive lineman. Later he started powerlifting and became a USA Powerlifting Champion.

He rose to become the top heavyweight lifter and broke all four Raw Powerlifting records of the state, Florida in the 275-pound class and, raw national records in the deadlift and totals. Ewen also won the USAPL Raw Nationals in 2011 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He competed within the super heavyweight division (275+lbs) and broke the raw American and national records in the deadlift (799 lbs) and total (2,039 lbs) category.

In 2009, Ewen did a try-out in Florida Championship Wrestling and then signed a contract with WWE. He was initially assigned to Florida Championship Wrestling to developmental brand. When FCW rebranded in NXT, he became the second NXT Champion.

He played his debut match in 2009 under the ring name Big E Langston and defeated Richie Steamboat and, Seth Rollins. He won the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship, only to be defeated by CJ Parker and Donny Marlow in 2011. In April 2012, he defeated Antonio Cesaro.

He has been held as an Intercontinental Champion twice, two-time Raw Tag Team Champion and SmackDown Tag Team Champion for six times. While he was a part of The New Day, he also held the record of the longest Tag team championship reign in the history of WWE for 483 days.

In 2020, he resumed his career in singles, though he still remained a member of The New Day. In 2021, he won the Money in the Bank ladder match- men’s. He used it to win the WWE Championship, to become the 33rd Triple Crown Champion in the company’s history. He holds several awards and titles. He is presently the WWE championship title holder and is officially drafted to the Raw brand.
