Jessica Simpson was born on 10th July 1980. Her original birth name is Jessica Ann Johnson. She is an American businesswoman and a successful singer and actress. When Jessica was just sixteen, Columbia Records signed a recording contract with her. This led to the release of her debut studio album in the year 1999. Her debut album “I Wanna Love You Forever” (1999) sold over four million copies worldwide and made and appearance in the top three hits in that year. In the year 2001 he released her second album in hopes of it being appreciated in the same manner. The album was titled “Irresistible’’ and its title track became the second top twenty hit on to reach the Billboard Hot 100. A gold certificate was given to the album from the Recording Industry of America (RIAA).
As her music career was on the fast track to further success after four years of dating the singer Nick Lachey, she married the singer on 26th October 2002. In the reality television series named Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica who were aired on MTV the two as a couple appeared in it, chronicling their marriage and career to the public eye. This was a new pop culture phenomenon of reality television introduced to the public eye making Jessica and her husband Nick household names. After her marriage she released her third album called “In The Skin’’ in the year 2003. This album has been her most successful album to date. It has known to have sold over seven million copies across the globe. One of the songs in the album titled “With You” topped the Mainstream Top 40 charts. She soon after released a Christmas album titled “ReJoyce: The Christmas Album’’ a year later.
This album too was given a gold certificate by the RIAA. Since her music career was doing so well Jessica decided to test new waters and made her debut in a film titled Daisy Duke. The film was an adaptation from The Dukes of Hazard. While the movie did successfully, commercially, but it received many a negative critical reviews. In November 2005 it was confirmed that Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey had separated and it was noticed that Jessica had filed for the divorce herself. Soon after Jessica also parted ways with Columbia Records and had joined Epic Records by signing a new recording contract to distribute her fifth studio album.
