Joanna Kerns

Joanna Kerns, whose actual name is Joanna Crussie DeVarona, is an actress and director who later veered towards politics as well. Her birthday fell on February 12, 1953, in San Francisco, California, United States of America. The names of her parents are David Thomas DeVarona and Martha Louise. They worked as an insurance agent and a manager of a cloth store respectively. She has three siblings. Donna de Verona, her elder sister, is an Olympic champion while her aunt Miriam Cooper is an actress. Growing up with Donna was hard for her since her parents would incessantly compare her and expect her to replicate her success. She took up swimming but failed at it. She then tried gymnastics and competed in Olympics. She then started dancing and did majors in it from UCLA. While there, she chanced upon an advertisement of Clown Around, a production of Gene Kelly.

She auditioned and got selected for it. After Gene Kelly, she starred in Ulysses in Nightgown and Two Gentlemen of Verona. In 1970's her popularity rose, and she made several appearances in films and TV shows. She is also the co-founder of Lucy Awards, which commemorates women working in the glamour industry. He was also a part of the Motion Picture and Television Fund's committee for four years. Joanna was married to Richard Kerns, a commercial producer, whom she met on the set of a commercial that she shot. They bore a daughter. However, after nine years of togetherness, they parted ways. Currently, she is the wife of Marc Appleton, a well-known architect from Los Angeles. Joanna has also been vocal about her political views and is a staunch Democrat.
