Bill Mechanic

Bill Mechanic is an American film producer. He is best known for the movies ‘The New World’ in 2015, and ‘ Hacksaw Ridge Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ in 2016. He was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1950. He did his graduation from Michigan State University. He graduated with a degree in English in 1973. In 1978, he started working as Vice President of Programming in Select TV Programming Inc.

He has worked in Pay TV and Paramount Pictures too. In 1984, he joined Disney. There he worked as President of International Distribution and worldwide video. He married Carol Mechanic and has a daughter named Aaron.

He was nominated for Emmy Awards many times. After working as Vice President of pay television sales for Walt Disney Company and Senior Vice President of Walt Disney Home Video, he started working at Fox Entertainment.

He worked as Chairman and Chief Executive officer in 1994. He holds a position in many fields like pay-TV, marketing, international theatrical activities and distribution for Fox Entertainment. At the Berlin International Film Festival, he became president of the jury in 2001. At the Tokyo International Film Festival in 2006, he was a part of the jury. He launched his own production company, Pandemonium Films.

He is currently the CEO and Chairman of his company. He was also the part of the board of governors and counselors of many academies including USC School of Cinematic Arts and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science.
