David Silverman is the president of a non-profit organization named American Atheists at present. The NPO supports the atheists' rights and strives for the removal of terminology of religion in public places. He had been an atheist since the age of six. He started challenging the concept of religion publicly. Even though he was against the religious beliefs, he was often forced to perform his Bar Mitzvah. The turning point of his life was that point when he decided that he will never lie that he is an atheist as he went on to the stage and announced that he is theist, and he knew it. After seventeen years, his father agreed that he also did not believe in God. He completed his bachelor's degree from the Brandeis University, an American private research university in Massachusetts , in the subject of Computer Science. He continued his studies with MBA in the field of Marketing from a research-intensive university named Pennsylvania State University. He appeared several times in the media when he worked as the Vice President and Communications Director. He is now visible on the media specially since he started holding the position of the president. The billboard campaign for atheist awareness, which was launched in the year 2010 led to some controversies due to which the exposure of the organization in the media increased drastically.
