Alex Heffes

Alex Heffes is a British-born film composer. He was born in Buckinghamshire in 1971. Heffes has produced works which have won Oscar and BAFTA Awards. Apart from composing for films he has featured in jazz club scenes. Heffes started school in Buckinghamshire and later joined the Oxford University. He graduated from Oxford University with Honours. He was a first class student in his college days as he passed out with a first class result from the university. Heffes started his professional career by playing the keyboard. Simultaneously, he wrote and arranged commercials. He has also featured on TV with his band. After working for commercials and composing music on television, Heffes was asked to assist Simon Boswell in composing. From here on he began his journey as a composer. He and Simon have together composed for over 20 movies during their time together. From his compositions, the very first one being the State of Play, as he continued to work, Heffes became one the most successful composers.
