She is a China-based actress and ballet dancer. She is also known as Cecilia Liu, her screen name for English audiences. She is famous for her roles in movies and television dramas. Her performances in movies like ‘The Next Miracle’ and ‘Badges of Fury’ made her popular among audiences. She has also worked in hit television series such as ‘The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber’ and time traveling Scarlet Heart franchise. Born as Liu Shi Shi in Beijing, China, she has learnt classical ballet dancing from Beijing Dance Academy. She finished her education from there with a major in ballet. During her college time, she was offered a role in a television drama which changed her career preferences and moved her in the direction of acting.

She made her debut in television with the drama series ‘The Moon and the Wind’ as the main lead. She met with Nicky Wu, her Scarlet Heart co-star on the sets. They began dating each other in 2013. Slowly they fall in love, and two years later, she announced her marriage with Nicky by posting her pictures of their wedding rings on her social networking site.
