Lisa Valerie Kudrow, widely known as Phoebe Buffay, ever since she acted in the famous television series Friends, is an American comedian, actress, producer and voice over artist. Born in Los Angeles, California, Lisa Kudrow graduated with a degree in Biology from Vassar College and worked along with her father for eight years.
After working with her father, Lisa started as a comedian with a comedy troupe- The Groundlings. She then became a member of two other troupes- The Unexpected Company and the Transformers Comedy Troupe. She made her debut on the small screen through NBC’s gag show Cheers. After a few more appearances in sitcoms, she got her first lengthy role as Ursula Buffay, a crazy waitress, in the sitcom Mad About you by NBC. In the year 1994, she was roped in to act as Phoebe Buffay, a massage therapist, along with five others in the most critically acclaimed show Friends. This role shot her to fame and Kudrow became a household name. In 1998, she fetched the Emmy Awards’ best supporting actress. Kudrow was the highest paid television artist. For the ninth and tenth season of Friends, she earned one million dollars for each episode. She has also exhibited her writing skills and also acted in the television series The Comeback and The Web Therapy. Moreover, she has won the Screen Actors Guild Award, Satellite Award, Webby Award and so on.
Lisa Kudrow’s film career started with a funny role in High School Reunion. She went on to do comical roles in Hanging Up, Analyze this and its sequel Analyze That. Kudrow has also acted in a substantial role, in the film Wonderland, about a late porn star. She has also acted in the films The Opposite of Sex, Happy Endings, p.s. I love you, Hotel for Dogs and so on.
Lisa Kudrow, on May 27, 1995, got married to Michel Stern, a French advertising executive and gave birth to their son, Julian Murray in the year 1998.
