Kim Cattrall was born on 21 August in 1956. She was born and brought up in Mossley Hill, Liverpool, England. Her mother was Gladys Shane (Baugh), a secretary and father was Dennis Cattrall, a construction engineer. At the age of three months, her family moved to Canada. A large number of her films have been made in Canada. She returned to her native state at age 11. She studied at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She returned to Vancouver and graduated from high school at age 16. She won a scholarship to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. She won a role in Otto Preminger's thriller film Rosebud in 1975 during her final year at the Academy. After her film debut, she returned to the theatre. Then she won a contract with Universal Pictures in Los Angeles, California.
She is best known for the film role of Vulcan Lieutenant Valeris in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country in 1991. Her other famous role was as a public relations executive Samantha Jones, in the situation comedy film Sex and the City in 1998. She has been married three times. Her marriage to Larry Davis was annulled being married from 1977 to 1979. She was second married to Andre J. Lyson with whom she lived in Frankfurt from 1982 to 1989 and learned to speak German fluently. But she admits she has forgotten a lot over the years.
She was married to Mark Levinson from 1998 to 2004. He was an audio designer and jazz bassist. The two had written the book Satisfaction: The Art of the Female Orgasm in 2002. In December 1988 she revealed it. She scheduled Pan Am Flight 103; the aeroplane has crashed in Lockerbie, Scotland, after a terrorist bomb that was detonated during the flight. She cancelled her booking on the flight to complete some Christmas shopping at the last minute in London. She holds a dual Canadian and British citizenship. She is an avid supporter and a fan of Liverpool F.C.
