Joanna Cassidy

Joanna Cassidy is a popular American actress who has worked in both genre television and films. She was born on 2 August 1945 to Virginia and Joe Caskey. In her school days she has described herself as the rowdy kid. She did her schooling from Haddon field Memorial High School. She was always known for her hearty and howling laugh whose glimpse was also heard in the movie The Laughing Policeman where she played the role of Monica. Joanna did her graduation from Syracuse University. In 1964, during her time in college she got married to a doctor Kennard C. Kobrin and also she found a modeling project the same year. Then later they moved to San Francisco and both found work there and started working in their respective fields.

In 1984, Joanna was a given a role to play in the film Bullitt. Though they both got divorced in 1974, after which Joanna moved to Los Angeles. Cassidy had debuted with the film The Outfit in 1973 where she portrayed the role of Rita Mailer. Also in 1972 she appeared in a Public Service Announcement, Smoky Bear. Also she was seen in television series like Mission: Impossible, Taxi and Starsky & Hutch. Her first regular role came with 240-Robert, an action- adventure series in the role of Morgan Wainwright as sheriff’s pilot which was released in 1979.

The series lasted for two seasons. In her short lived role of in the sitcom Buffalo Bill which was aired in 1983 she won a Golden Globe Award. In 1994, Cassidy played the role of ex- wife of actor James Garners in a television movie, The Rockford Files: I Still Love L.A in the year 1994. In 2001, she worked with director John Carpenter in the movie Ghosts of Mars. Then in 2011 she worked in a sitcom Body of Proof and had a recurring role of Joan Hunt.Though the serial later in 2013 got cancelled by ABC on which it was aired.
