Jennifer Ehle

Born in Winston-Salem, a town in North Carolina in the USA, on December 29th 1969, Jennifer Ehle is a notable Hollywood actress. Her parents are John Ehle, a famous novelist and Rosemary Harris, a well-known actress during the 90’s. Jennifer is both German and Romanian and grew up in both the USA and the UK. Jennifer switched schools many times and attended Interlochen Arts Academy situated in Michigan, USA. Jennifer mostly lived in Asheville in North Carolina. Jennifer underwent training in theater and drama and studied at UNCSA and Central School of Speech and Drama located in London.

Jennifer entered the world of acting when she was still an infant and appeared in the play, A Streetcar Named Desire, in which her mother played the part of Blanche DuBois. After that, Jennifer made her breakthrough with the theater comedy, Tartuffe, in the year 1991. Jennifer portrayed the part of Elmire in this play. For her performance, Jennifer received the second prize at the prestigious Ian Charleson Awards. After that, she became a popular face in the world of theater and worked in several plays including The Relapse, Summerfolk, Macbeth, Breaking the Code, and various others. Jennifer was last seen in Mr. and Mrs. Fitch, a theatrical comedy.

Jennifer has been actively working in TV series and movies since 1992. Her first TV show was The Camomile Lawn, where she essayed the part of Calypso. She also appeared in various mini-series including ‘Melissa’ and ‘Pride And Prejudice’. Pride and Prejudice was based on the book written by Jane Austen for which Jennifer earned a BAFTA Award for the portrayal of Elizabeth Bennet. Jennifer was finalized to essay the part of Catelyn Stark in the famous series, Game Of Thrones, but she backed out at the last minute because it was too soon to work post-pregnancy.

Jennifer has also acted in several movies starting with ‘Backbeat’ in which she played Cynthia Powell. She also worked in a telemovie in the year 2008 titled, The Russell Girl. Jennifer tied the knot with Michael Scott Ryan in the year 2001 and they are the proud parents of George and Talulah.
