Emily Browning is an actress and singer from Australia, born on 7th of December in Melbourne, Australia. She is the daughter of Andrew and Shelley Browning. She completed her education at Eltham High School. She has two younger brothers Nicholas and Matthew. From her childhood days, she took an interest in subjects like English, literature, photography and design before finally settling onto dramatics art. She wanted to be a fashion designer, but she discovered herself as an actress, at the age of 8. Her start in acting came after a classmate’'s father (involved in acting business) noticed her acting in a school play. She is also known for her portrayal of the American drama flick ‘Sleeping beauty’ (2011); wherein she played the character of Lucy. Her role in this flick is highly appreciated and in 2011, Hamptons International Film Festival announced her as the “Breakthrough Performer of the Year” The movie premiered at the Cannes Film Festival as the first completion entry to get screened. She admitted that reading the screenplay for Sleeping Beauty made her uncomfortable, but she went for it. In 2006, Emily also appeared in the music video for Evermore’s ‘Light Surrounding You’. She got a chance to show her singing talent, when she was cast in ‘God Help the Girl’ a musical flick, wherein she played Eve and the role required live singing. On 1 February 2007, she attended the L’Oréal Fashion Festival as a festival ambassador.
