Born on 26 October, Everley Gregg was an English actress who started her acting career in 1933 as the role of Catherine Parr in the movie ‘The Private Life of Henry 8. After two years, she contributed this aspect with her partial filmography in the movie The Scoundrel and The Ghost Goes West. The England-born actress later did a role in Claudius in 1937, though it was concluded unfinished due to some unavoidable reasons. In the same year, she appeared once again her partial role in the movie- Thunder in the City, which was a usual British drama film.

In 1938, with a star sign Scorpio, she acted in two movies and those were- ‘Pygmalion’ and ‘Blondes for Danger.’ 1939 was the year of her break as a gap between her working years. In 1940 and 1941, she rolled in Spies of The Air and Freedom Ratio respectively. Then she played a small role as a nurse for the 1942 film, In Which We Serve. A role of hers later led her to a well-known movie and due to this; she got a good role acting like a gossip character as Dolly Messiter in Brief Encounter.

The next year, she appeared in The Gentle Sex, which was a movie with drama, comedy and romance. Amongst other films, this was also a black and white movie; but it narrated the story of seven British girls who had decided to help at the time of world war and do their aspect. Many of the movies in which she played small roles were related to the sufferings of that time as those were the days of world wars. Therefore, in the same year, she appeared with again a small role in The Demi-Paradise.

After 1950, until the year she expired; she was not seen doing many roles or giving many appearances. Thus, she was there in six tiny roles of six movies and the last movie in which she appeared at the age of 56 was Danger List. She did this kind of role in 23 movies out of which, if considered good enough and substantial was Lean’s Brief Encounter in 1945 as already told.
