Liam Cunningham

In recent years, nothing and no one has made news as much as the TV series, Game of Thrones. Famous for killing major characters, gross killing scenes, nudity, dragons and an intriguing plot, Games of Thrones had the entire world at its feet. Anyone who watches it will surely know who Liam Cunningham. Liam is an actor of Irish descent. His birthday fells on June 2, 1961. His family was Roman Catholics, who resided in East Wall, Dublin, Ireland.

He has four siblings, one brother, and three sisters. He went to St Davids, a local school in his vicinity. However, he was weak in academic. As a result, he stopped going to high school when he turned fifteen and started to work as an electrician. He then moved to Zimbabwe. There Liam worked at a safari park, maintaining electrical equipment and training new electricians. He continued to work there for three years before returning to the homeland.

Soon, he lost interest in his profession and decided to pursue his life-long passion of becoming an actor. He joined an acting class to harness his skills and simultaneously started working in theatre plays. After much struggle, he got his first breakthrough in 1992, with Into the West. He then went on to work in War of the Buttons, The Wind That Shakes the Barley, A Little Princess, When the Sky Falls, Falling for a Dancer, The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse, Too Rich: The Secret Life of Doris Duke and much more. However, he achieved international fame after acting in Dog Soldiers.

After Dog Soldiers work poured in from all corners. His stint in Game of Thrones only consolidated his acting prowess and reputation. He has also worked for a video game named, Squadron 42 as Captain Noah White and has featured in High Hopes, a music video. Although the Irish Film and Television Award's jury has nominated him several times in different categories he has managed to win it only twice. both the times in the category of Best Supporting Actor in a Film.

Screen Actors, Guild Award's jury had also selected him once for the nomination in the category of Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. However, he lost out on it. He still resides in Dublin and prefers to travel for his acting commitments. He is married to Colette Cunningham. The couple has three children named Ellen, Sean and Liam Jr Cunningham.
