Kenny Baker played the part of the character named R2-D2 in this movie. The full name of Kenny Baker is Kenneth George Baker. He was born in Birmingham, England. Kenny Baker did his schooling in a boarding school in Kent. His parents were also from a creative background. Kenny Baker’as father Harold Baker was an artist, draftsman, and a musician. His mother Ethel was a pianist and dressmaker. Due to some family issues, his parents got divorced, and Kenny Baker lived with his father and stepmother. He had a half sister in Hastings in Sussex. In the beginning, Kenny Baker had not considered acting. Incidentally, in the year 1951, a lady on the street approached him and asked to join a theatre troupe of dwarves.

Kenny Baker agreed, and after this show, he got attracted to show business. He then joined a circus, learned ice skating and came in several ice shows. They had two children, and both of them have not inherited this trait and are of average height. His wife Eileen Baker passed away in the year 1993. They were married until then. Kenny Baker was invited to a premiere show of Star Wars: The Force Awakens which was held in Los Angeles in December of the year 2015. However, owing to his health, Kenny Baker rejected the invite as he was too ill to travel. Kenny had trouble with his lungs and suffering from it for many years. So he attended the premiere in London. In the year 2016, Kenny Baker passed away after being unhealthy and sick for a period. After his demise, the UK based tabloid newspaper revealed that he had another son whom he had kept hidden from his family, but he was in contact with this son.
