The Hangover franchise and Ben Chang in the NBC networks produced "The Community," Ken Jeong is an American actor and comedian. Jeong is also a licensed physician by profession. Kendrick Kang-Joh Jeong, as he was originally named, was born to Young and Don-Keung Jeong, who were immigrants from South Korea. Ken pursued his education at the Walter Hines Page High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was an active member of the student’s council who participated in the school's High IQ team. Ken also played violin in the school orchestra, and consequently was presented with the Greensboro Youth of the Year, for his achievements. Jeong's father was initially reluctant to let him pursue acting as a career, and put him through medical school at the Duke University, followed by the University of North Carolina for an advanced degree. Jeong practiced internal medicine at the Ochsner Medical Centre, New Orleans, and also performed stand-up gigs at the Improv and Laugh Factory. Jeong was declared the winner of "Big Easy Laff-Off," and was encouraged to pursue acting by relocating to Los Angeles. Ken's prior experience in comedy led him to his television debut in The View, produced by NBC networks. eong has also featured in brief roles in Two And a Half Men, MADtv, Girls Behaving Badly, The Shield, and American Dad, among many others. In the year 2007, Jeong made his big-screen debut in Judd Apatow's comedy-flick Knocked Up, which also starred
Seth Rogen and
Katherine Heigl. The film catapulted Jeong's movie career landing him roles in
Role Models, All about Steve, Sell Hard, Couples Retreat, The Hangover franchise, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon. "Mr. Chow" as he is known in the comedy flicks Hangover I, II and III, established his Hollywood career as a comedian and was also nominated for two MTV Movie Awards and a Teen Choice Award. Jeong was presented with another Teen Choice Award in the category of "Male Breakout Star" for his portrayal of Señor Ben Chang in the NBC-produced "The Community." Besides, Ken has co-starred in various commercials such as for Adidas, where he featured as "Slim Chin" alongside NBA star players Derrick Rose & Dwight Howard.
