James Duval

James Duval born as James Edward Duval, he is an American Actor, pianist, and guitarist. He was born on the 10th day of September 1972 in the city of Detroit, Michigan. He wasn't even 2 years old when his family shifted to California in 1974. His only sibling, i.e. his sister was born here only. He attended a total of three high schools starting from Gladstone High School in Covina for three years, then Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach and Fair Valley High School in Covina.

As a child, he got trained in the classical piano but later on he moved on to become a guitarist. He is also a Yoga Enthusiast and practices Hatha Yoga. He also happens to be a Yoga Teacher at Earth’s power yoga studio in Los Angeles and takes time out between films to teach there. As an actor, Duval started his career from the movie 'An Ambush of Ghosts' in 1993 and played a minor role of student no.1.

The same year, he received the role of Andy in the trilogy “Totally Fucked Up” by Gragg Araki. In 1995, he went on to play the Jordan White in “The Doom Generation”. As a guitarist and pianist, he plays and sings for a band named “ Gene Wilder Jerome Silberman, professionally known as Gene Wil >> Read More... ” after an actor by the same name. He plays alongside his fellow actors and friends Brian McGuire and Brett Roberts. Before joining this band, he played various gigs at Local venues in Los Angeles with bands like Antoneus Maximus and The Nuthouze. His first album with the band released in 2004 and included the guest appearances by the likes of apl.de.ap of The Black Eyed Peas, Dante Santiago,DjMotiv8 and Christopher Reid, who is famous for his role of “Kid” in Kid ‘n’ Play. As a child, James felt that he couldn’t belong anywhere because of his mixed ancestry. He was always considered a “Dog Eater”, a “nip” or a “chink” when he went to study at the Redondo Beach Elementary School. He felt alienated because he wasn’t blonde or a full blooded anything.

He has his mother from French-Vietnamese ancestry and his father of an American-Indian and Irish Ancestry. In 2002, he said in an interview to Gary Kon that ‘he had tried to live instinctively but he rather enjoys living in fantasy world and daydreaming. He feels that dreaming and fantasies are a very important aspect of the human psyche and soul and that is why he wants to act.’
