He played the role of Dr Herdal in a show 'The Master Builder' at the Old Vic Theater in January month of 2016. The show will show him as a 46-year old man and his unconditional friendship with a rabbit who happens to be 6ft tall.

When asked about his role by a leading daily, he said that his character is the opposite of his own his own personality and the characters he had played. He admires the hope, kindness and his friendship and how his character is not caustic at all. But he still couldn’t bring himself to identify with him. James had enjoyed his work again at the Birmingham Repertory from where he started his career and has starred in various stage show productions in the 90s. Although he did have to use a lot of his smiling muscles to play this latest character, he feels it was all worth the time and fun.

On the personal front, James always felt that even though he had handsome parents, he couldn't consider himself handsome by any means. As a teenager, he was a highly conscious child and lacked much of self-confidence. But now, he is a lot more confident in his own skin and does not worry about ageing.
