George Dzundza is a German-born American television and film actor. He went to Xavier's High School in New York and then he studied Music and Theatre Arts at St. John's University, Queens, New York. George Dzundza did not appear on the silver screen at once. He tried his hand in almost all the theatrical arts and finally, he appeared on the silver screen and small screen.
George Dzundza made his first stage debut in 1973 in King Lear, the production from New York Shakespeare Festival. Then he appeared in the guest role in 'Starsky and Hutch', which became his TV debut. He played the supporting role in the film 'The Deer Hunter' in 1978. In 1980, he married Mary Jo Vermeulen, and they had three children.
George Dzundza has acted and worked as an assistant director in the movies 'The Deer Hunter' (1978), and 'Crimson Tide' (1995), which includes his masterpieces. In ABC's sitcom, 'Open All Night', he did a role when he was in Los Angeles. In 1990, he appeared in the role of Detective Sergeant Max Greevey in the first season of 'Law and Order'. He left the character, and later Law and Order became very famous. He also did a title role in a made for TV movie 'Babymaker: The Dr. Cecil Jacobson Story', which has a very thrilling plot line. Later in 1998, he played the role of a recurring character in NBC's sitcom 'Jesse' but unfortunately, NBC banned it in 2000. George Dzundza appeared in Broadway theater like 'The Ritz'. He voiced for Perry White in 'Superman: The Animated Series'. He is well acclaimed for his portrayal of American Nazi Leader Frank Collin in 1981 made for TV movie, 'Skokie'. He won the Venice Film Festival Best Actor Award for his role in the film 'Streamers' in 1983. He is also very famous for many movies, TV sitcoms and many other made for TV movies.
