York Shackleton is an American Film Actor, Director, Producer, and Snowboarder. His full name is York Alec Shackleton. York hails from Palm Springs, California, in the United States of America. He was born on the 23rd of August in the year 1974. Richard Shackleton, a comic writer and Susan Mason, a teacher are his parents. He grew up in Palm Springs. York attended the Palm Springs High School. York maintains a low profile. Some of his co-actors, directors, and other people state that the funniest director in the business. Initially, York was a professional Snowboarder.
He would perform some unique tricks such as Rodeo flip and frontside rodeo flip. Rodeo flip was his signature trick. He was the first snowboarder to receive an endorsement with the Airwalk. His snowboarding was featured on Television in MTV’s Snow’d In (1998). Later, he appeared in many more TV commercials with his snowboard tricks. He appeared on the TV commercials for brands such as Mountain Dew, Taco Bell, Levi’s, Right Guard, and a few others. He had to retire from snowboarding after he met with an accident, followed by a life-threatening injury. Initially, York got an opportunity to play a small role in Jonathan Kahn’s Girl.
After his appearance in this show, he got roles in many independent films. He played the role of Jake in a TV show named Undressed (2000). He got his first lead role with the film I Know What You Did Last Winter (2005). York started working behind the Camera as a Director with the film Kush (2007). He directed more movies such as 1 Out Of 7 (2011), Pretty Perfect (2014), 211 (2018), and a few more. He also directed a few documentaries and short films. York is a multi-talented person who is not just a Director, but also producer, writer, DOP, and editer for some films, documentaries, and short films.
