Michael Patrick Jann (born May 15, 1970, in Albany, New York Click to look into! >> Read More... ) is an American actor, writer, and director best known for his role as a member of MTV's The State.
As a freshman, Jann attended New York University, where he joined The New Group, a comedy club, which got renamed later as The State. After college, the group continued to perform, and in 1993 they were given their own MTV series, The State, which aired from 1993 to 1995. Jann and David Wain directed the majority of the sketches on the show. Jann produced and directed several episodes of the Comedy Central show Reno 911!, which was created by members of The State and aired from 2003 to 2009. Together with The State members (and Reno 911! cast members), Thomas Lennon and Ben Garant co-wrote the 2006 film Let's Go to Prison. He directed the majority of the episodes of HBO's Little Britain USA in 2008.
Jann has directed several episodes Community, Children's Hospital, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Emily's Reasons Why Not, Flight of the Conchords, Friends with Benefits, Happy Endings, Notes from the Underbelly, Reaper, Suburgatory, Wedding Band, and Daybreak, among others.
Talking about his personal life, Jann and his wife Lisa LoCicero welcomed their son Lukas in 2001. LoCicero announced on her official Twitter account on June 2 that she gave birth to her daughter, Verity Marion Jann, on May 30.
