Giving life through his skills and making your eyes acquainted with that level of special effects in the movies as ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’, ‘ The Wolfman Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ , ‘October Sky’ and many others, Joe Johnston gave us a unique experience by introducing to us the first avenger of Marvel and taking us to the forest of ‘ Jumanji Everybody knows about the famous fictional board g >> Read More... ’ where two people are trapped for 26 years. Iconic characters like Boba Fett and Yoda are his creations as well.

Joe Johnston was born on 13 May, 1950 as Joseph Eggleston Johnston II in Austin, Texas. He received his education at Art Centre College of Design and then at California State University in Long Beach. He worked for a brief span as a product designer. He started his journey as an artist and effects technician with George Lucas George, born on May 14 1944, grew up in Modesto, C >> Read More... learning by experiencing in Star Wars Trilogy. In 1984 when he decided to leave, Lucas enrolled him in University of Southern California's Film School paying for his tution fees and half the salary paid in addition. Joe, however, left the school asked not to return on account of ‘breaking of too many rules’. This involvement with them led him to win an Academy Award for Best Visuals Effects for ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark’. He finally made his first move as a director in 1989 with ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’ which is as straightforward, comic and exciting as the name suggests. Jurassic World III, Hidalgo, The Wolfman and Not Safe for Work are his other erratic and entertaining movies.

The belief that good always triumphs over evil in Captain America; the need to tackle the problem of poverty in ‘*batteries not included’; the sense of beating the evil in ‘Jumnaji’ (for which he has received Young Artist Award for Best Family-Feature-Action-Adventure movie); the determination to follow one’s own desire in the much-acclaimed ‘October Sky’, these are some of the driving forces of his work.

His films are referred to as ‘popcorn flicks’ or ‘Saturday Afternoon Flare’. Rotating his work around the search of identity of his characters and going on the right path is what appeals their audience the most.
