Cody Cameron

Cody Cameron is an American Director and Voice-over artist who has had fair amount of success in the Hollywood industry. He is popularly known for directing the animated movie sequel named “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2”. He has worked in a variety of movies, especially, animated movies. Cody Cameron has a vast experience in the field of story-boarding.

The 46 year old, California guy started his career at the reputed DreamWorks Animation Company and worked his way up the ladder with sheer dedication and hard-work. He wrote dialogues for many popular animated movies. He did story-boarding for movies like in the Shriek franchise, Madagascar franchise and Shark Tale. He left DreamWorks Animation on 2004 and immediately joined Sony Pictures Animation. He went on to do the story-boarding for hit animated movie Surf’s up. His talent and knowledge in the film industry could not be neglected by others. He wanted to do more than story-boarding and did a short film, thereafter.

Chubb Chubbs – Save Xmas was a short film. Cody Cameron wrote the story and directed the movie. It was a sequel to the award winning short animation film named Chubb Chubbs. Sony Pictures Animation produced the computer –animated short. The movie was released in late 2007. Cody Cameron has done voice-over for many different and popular characters like Mrs Potts in Open Season. His voice-over characters have mostly a German based accent. Although his native language is American English, he pulls off the linguistic accent skills required to voice-over the characters. He directed the comedy-drama animated film Open Season 3. The Sony Pictures Animation produced sequel to Open Season 2 was not well received by movie goers.

Cody’ss rise to fame came in 2013, with the release of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 which was a sequel to the movie of the same name. The movie was co-directed by Cody Cameron and Kris Pearn. The Science fiction comedy film was a worldwide hit and earned huge profits. Made with a budget of $78 million, the movie earned over $274 million globally. Sony Pictures Animation put its money on the movie and produced it whereas Columbia Picture distributed the movie. It received decent critical reviews and many nominations in various awards and categories.

Cody Cameron left his dream run with Sony Pictures Animation recently and rejoined the company where he started his career. He is now again working for DreamWorks Animation and is currently working on his next directorial venture. He is co-directing the next Shriek movie and is looking forward to grow the popularity of the franchise more with his work.
