Riaad Moosa is a South African doctor, stand up comedian and a well-known actor. He was born on 18 June 1977 and has spent his innocent childhood in Grassy Park, Cape Town. He was born to an Indian-Malay descent. He did schooling from South Peninsula High School in 1994. He learnt magic for three years from the College of Magic in Cape Town and became the silver medalist. He had a medical background. So, from the childhood itself, Riaad was keen to learn medical science. To pursue his interest, he joined training at University of Cape Town Medical School for six years.

After completing the training, he worked as a doctor for the next three years of his life. In the fourth year of his studies, he started taking part in stand up comedy shows held at his college. In September 1999, Moosa garnered the winning award of "One City, Many Comics Talent Competition." He earned giant fame at "comedy-club circuit" that was at Cape Town. The list of his famous comedy shows includes "Alex Jay 5FM Comedy Jams," "Winston King Size Comedy Show," "Hanging with Mr. Cooper," "Made in India," and many more. In 2000, Moosa was seen in South Africa's 2nd largest comedy show, that is, "Laugh Out Loud." He earned millions of bucks through that show. He was also starred in David Kramer's comedy shows like "Riaad Moosa For The Baracka," "Strictly Halaal," and "Three Wise Men and Three Wiser Men." In 2003, he was performer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

In the same year, Moosa got married to Farzanah Bemat and they have two children now. He uses comedy to raise sensitive social issues faced by the Islamic community and helps them to uplift in the society. In 2004, he was actor and director of a telivision show "Pure Monate Show." Moosa has also done acting in various movies like "Crazy Monkey Straight Outta Benoni," "sequel Footskating 101," and comedy film "Material." He was also seen at some film festivals like the Busan International Film Festival that is conducted in Seoul, South Korea where"Material" was screened in 2012, the BFI London Film Festival and the Asian film festival. He is the presenter of the show "The Second Opinion – with Dr Riaad Moosa."In 2013, he hosted shows like "The Dr Mol Show," and "Comedy Central Presents Riaad Moosa Live at Parke."

In the same year, he was seen playing a patriotic role in the film inspired by Nelson Mandela, that is, "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom." Moosa is the recipient of awards like "Comics Choice Award" in 2011 at the 1st Annual "South African Comic's Choice Awards." During the 2012, he hosted an award ceremony for the people who lead the digital industry, the FNB-powered Bookmarks Awards at Capetown itself. He has done some tours as a professional doctor. There are no words that can define his talent and hard work. He is a passionate person and believes in imparting good social messages via his acts. He is very lovable amongst the folks because he is blessed with the ability to make them "SMILE."
