Bob Avian is a famous American choreographer, onstage director, and theatrical producer. He even had Broadway shows, namely West Side Story, Funny Girl, and Sweet Henry. But dancing is not the only passion that holds Bob in his career. During his time, he even worked as an assistant producer for projects like “Twigs” and “Do Do.”
In 1962, for the very first time, Bob and Michael Bennett collaborated for the movie Nowhere to go but up. With time the onscreen duos were again witnessed alongside numerous plots that include God's favorite, Ballroom, A Chorus Line, are, to name a few. Bob's first movie as a producer was Dream girls.
A Chorus Line in 1976 was the first original revivals for the musicals in London. For which he was awarded Drama Desk Award and Tony Award for outstanding and best choreography, respectively. In 1979, Bob is again awarded drama desk award and Tony award for Ballroom.In Martin Guerrenominations, Bob is honored with Laurence Olivier award for best choreographer.
