He made his television debut as John Doe in the 2008 CBC comedy series "jPod," which was based on Douglas Coupland's novel of the same name. Coombs also featured as Lance Corporal C. Sellers in a Battle star Galactica episode from 2009. In 2010, Coombs played the character of Thomas Culpeper in the TV series "The Tudors." He also appeared on CBC's Heartland in "Chase Powers." He co-starred as Sam Besht in the Hulu drama series "Endgame" in 2011.
