Ricardo Montalban is an American actor who has worked in several Hollywood movies and series. His full name is Ricardo Gonzalo Pedro Montalban y Merino. He was born on 25th November 1920 in Mexico City, Mexico. His career span was seven decades, during which he became known for many performances in a variety of genres, such as crime, family-drama, comedy, and action. Montalban won an Emmy Award for his amazing performance in the series, How the West Was Won, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild in 1993.
Ricardo was active into his 80s, during which he provided voices for cartoon films and commercial ads, and appeared in the role of Grandfather Valentin in the Spy Kids series. During the 1970s and '80s Montalban served as a spokesman in automobile advertisements for Chrysler, including those in which he titled the "rich Corinthian leather" used for the Cordoba's interior.
He became a star in Mexico in Santa in the year 1943, which was directed by Norman Foster. He followed it with a supporting role in Cinco fueron escogidos. His films had been seen by MGM board members who were looking for someone to play a bullfighter opposite to Esther Williams in the picture Fiesta in 1947 which shot in Mexico. He was signed by them. On 14th January 2009 he died in Los Angeles.
