Mekhi Thira Phifer is a famous African-American actor. Besides his profound acting, Phifer has gained considerable fame as a rapper, director, and producer. Born on December 29, 1974, Mekhi Phifer is famous as Dr. Greg Pratt in the long-running medical drama ER. He is also renowned for co-starring Eminem in a feature film, Mile 8. Born in Harlem, New York City, Mekhi Thira Phifer's mom is a high school teacher, Rhoda Phifer. Phifer was brought up in a single-parent household under the committed and affectionate care of his mother. Mekhi Phifer's love for acting blossomed at seven when he participated in 'A Christmas Carol' play, representing the Ghost of Christmas. His career began when Phifer bagged the role of a narcotics dealer, competing over a thousand other contestants, in Spike Lee's film, 'Clockers.'

In 1995, Mekhi Phifer released his first music album under Warner Bros. Records, 'New York Related: The HF Project.'
