Jeff Perry is an American actor who has performed on stage, television, and in series. He was born on 16 August 1955. His actual name is Jeffrey Perry. His famous role is Richard Katimski on the teen drama My So-Called Life, Thatcher Grey on the medical drama series Grey's Anatomy, Cyrus Beene on the political drama series Scandal, and Inspector Harvey Leek on the CBS crime drama Nash Bridges.
He is the real founder of Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago. His classmates, Gary Sinise and Terry Kinney, helped him to open his company in the cafeteria at Highland Park High School.
But after a while, they were shifted to Immaculate Conception Church in Highland Park. He had worked nearly twenty years with the Steppenwolf company, and sooner or later, he moved to Los Angeles to work in films and television.
He is famous for his character of San Francisco Police Department Inspector Harvey Leek on the CBS police drama sequence Nash Bridges. He was born in Highland Park, Illinois, where his father worked as a teacher at Highland Park High School. He completed his graduation from Illinois State University in 1978.
He married actress Laurie Metcalf from 1983 to 1986. They had a child, Zoe Perry, but they later divorced.
In 1989, he married Linda Lowy, the casting director of Grey's Anatomy, and had a daughter, Leah Perry. He had done work in many multiple stage productions, which consisted of The Time of Your Life, Grapes of Wrath, and The Caretaker.

In 2015, at Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer, there was a show called "Anna Christie,"where Perry, with his daughter, Zoe Perry, and actor Kevin McKidd, performed, located at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. In an interview, he said, "During "Anna Christie", the major problem I had was employed with my daughter and sort of not discontinuing and asking an audience associate for a camera to record the moment."
