He was an American radio, film, and television actor who has given immense workpieces in the industry and is widely acknowledged for F Troop (1965–1967), The Adventures of Kit Carson(1951-1955), and The Dick Van Dyke Show.

He completed schooling at one of the nearby schools and later moved to Michigan for further educational qualifications. He studied Drama at one of the most famous universities, i.e., the University of Michigan, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 1942.
Afterward, he enrolled himself in the United States Army Air Corps, where he received a commission. After getting discharged as a lieutenant in 1946, he commenced his journey by acting on radio and became famous for his dialect portrayals of Spaniards and Mexicans. This role provided him with immense fame from all over the world and helped him land various other opportunities. It also gave him the chance to play the role of "El Toro" in The Adventures of Kit Carson syndicated television series (1951–1955).
In addition, Don was also featured as Corporal Reyes on the Walt Disney television series Zorro (1957–1959) with Henry Calvin, who was seen as Sergeant Garcia. Afterward, Diamond was featured as Diego on The Big Valley in episode "Miranda” in 1986. These roles helped him establish his name in the Industry and assisted him in getting his hands on other roles in the movies or series.
His other notable works include The Lone Ranger, Raiders of Old California, Mr. Adams and Eve, The Old Man and the Sea, The Story of Ruth, Swingin' Along, Fun in Acapulco, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Toolbox Murders and, many more.
His masterpieces have built his reputation in the industry, and due to which he’s appreciated by people worldwide. Till now, he has been seen more than 100 television shows and in numerous feature films. Talking about his personal life, he has married Louisa Diamond since 1966.
Unfortunately, he died because of heart failure in Los Angeles, California, on June 19, 2011, at the age of 90.
