Mark Bennington is an actor, well known for his incredible work in the movie The Letters (2014) and Detective Byomkesh Bakshy (2015). Mark is based in New York, and he is the curator of Living the Dream: The Life of the Bollywood Actor and a Portrait Photographer. He has also served as a drummer at LA roots/rock band and as a professor of photography at Syracuse University. In December 21st, 2013 he married the love of his life, Taapsi Ramchandani, a cultural anthropologist.
Mark also played the role of Ichleb in the episode of Star Trek Voyager Series. Apart from Star Trek he was also seen in a drama film ‘And there came summer,' CBS series directed by Nancy Malone, and NBC’s Titans directed by Charles Correl. In addition, to television, he has also worked in various stage dramas like Murdering Malowe, The Birds of the Paradise and An Enemy of the People. He has to his credit performed Shakespearean theatrical plays A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Twelfth Night.
Mark was an actor for more than ten years in Los Angeles and New York, performing both in theater and TV shows. It was his passion and love for India that brought him here. After coming to Mumbai, Mark’s meeting with the casting director of YRF, Shanoo Sharma, was a turning point in his life. Living the Dream: The Life of the Bollywood Actor is his new book in which he has tried to imbibe the quintessence of the Bollywood community.
Mark married Taapsi initially in Los Angeles and then they had their traditional Hindu wedding in Pune. Mark and Taapsi met through a common friend in Bandra, Mumbai.
In Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, Mark plays the role of DCDD Wilkie. He portrays the role of a shrewd detective in Lal Bazar. In the movie, DCDD Wilkie is someone, whom no one can figure out, he is known to walk freely and disguise himself.
