The series start with the introduction of the three families in their own living way. While Claire doesn’t get along with her stepmother too well due to same age group, her teen aged daughter finds Gloria comfortable and enjoys spending time with her.
On the other hand, Gloria’s son and Clarie’s son don’t like each other and invite each other into a fight quite often. In between these personal egos and awkwardness, the male counterparts of the families try to play responsible for their sons and daughters. Mitchell and Cameron are happy in with each other and always takes parenting of his adopted child seriously. Altogether, Modern family is an entire comedy drama of three entirely different yet interconnected families who find it hard to get along with each other in daily life.
The series has tried to portray the evolving family relations due to technology advancements, where families prefer on phone conversations rather visiting them and meeting them personally to prevent absurd meetings between them. If you judge them, then they are from different worlds, yet somehow they put themselves together. So, just expect the unexpected.
