Sofia Vergara is a gorgeous Columbian model, host, producer, comedian and actress. She was born as Sofia Margarita Vergara Vergara on July 10, 1972 at Barranquilla, Atlantico, Columbia. Her mother is Margarita Vergara Davila de Vergara and Julio Enrique Vergara Robayo. She was called as La Toti in her family. Sofia is a devoted Catholic and studied at Marymount School Barranquilla. She got married to her childhood sweetheart, Joe Gonzalez when she was just 18-years old and had a son named, Manolo. They got divorced in year 1993. She also went to a University in Columbia and took pre-dentistry. Various opportunities came her way to work as a model and actress and Sofia decided to pursue her career in show business. She stopped studying and went to Miami with her son, mother and sister.

She was spotted by a photographer while she was walking at a beach in Columbia and later, she received many offers on modeling and television. She was hesitant to do her first television commercial until her school gave their permission to accept the offer. So she first appeared in a Pepsi commercial when she was 17 years old that was extensively broadcast around Latin America.

When she was 20-years old, she moved to Bogotá in Columbia to work as a ramp model and TV actress. She is also Fernando Fiore’s co-host in the travel show, Fuera de serie from which she visited unusual places worldwide. The series was aired on the Spanish language, Univisión and she became a star in Latin America. She was given more exposures since the series was also aired in United States through the Univisión channels there. Sofia also hosted another show from the same channel entitled, A que no te atreves or I . She usually work for Univisión since she in under an exclusive contract with the network.

She made a guest appearance in the opening of HBO’s Entourage Season 4. She also modeled for various posters and calendars from 1998 to 2002. When her contract in Univisión expires, she got an offer in United States to do some roles in ABC network. She appeared as Lola Hernandez in the ABC sitcom, Hot Properties along with Gail O’Grady and . The show was usually compared to Sex and the City and Designing Women. In 2007, she bagged the role of Esperanza Villalobos in another ABC’s comedy series, The Knights of Prosperity. She was starred in the sitcom, Modern Family from 2009 up to the present. Her character as a Columbian mother, Gloria Delgado-Pritchett gained her a nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmy Award from 2010 to 2013.

In 2007, Sofia played as Alicia Oviedo in Amas de Casa Desesperadas, the Columbian version of the very popular American series, Desperate Housewives. Alicia’s character is the counterpart of Mary Alice Young (played by ) in Desperate Housewives. She was also part of the prime time drama series, Dirty Sexy Money from which she played as Sofia Montoya, the love interest of Jeremy Darling (played by ). The actress also guested in the Mexican telenovela, Fuego en la sangre. In year 2008, she took the 62nd place in the ‘Hot 100’ list on Maxim’s magazine. She essayed the role of Mama Morton in the musical play, Chicago. In 2011, the filming of the popular comedy film, ‘The Three Stooges: The Movie’ was ended, where she donned the role of Lydia Harter, a nasty woman who attempted to manipulate the Three Stooges into murdering her own husband so she can get all his money. Sofia supported his son, Manolo on his YouTube’s Vida Con Toty in April 2012.

She became the highest-earning woman in the television industry after gaining $19-Million for 12-months in year 2012. Sofia was also named as one of the ’50 Most Beautiful People’ in People’s magazine and was known as one of the most powerful Latin Women in Hollywood, based on Billboard and Hollywood Reporter. She has done advertisements for various brands like CoverGirl, State Farm, Diet Pepsi and Comcast’s Xfinity. She signed contracts for Diet Pepsi, Synthroid and Rooms To Go in year 2013.

The actress survived with Thyroid Cancer in year 2000. In 2012, she got engaged to Nick Loeb but the supposed wedding was cancelled on May 23, 2014. In July 2014, Sofia was reportedly dating of True Blood.
