Pranayam is a Malayalam television soap opera. It is the remade version of the popular Hindi television show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, which used to be telecasted in Star Plus. This show was launched on the Malayalam channel Asianet. This prime time show is telecasted everyday, from Monday to Saturday, at 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., on Asianet, since its launch on 6 July 2015. This show is produced under the banner Sree Saran Creations. This banner was the producer of Amma, which was the longest running television series on Asianet before its last show that was aired on 4 July 2015.
This television series showcases the love story of two strangers, Lakshmi, and Sharan. Sharan, the lead male character, is the Chief Executive Officer of a multinational corporation. He is a divorced, and he lives with his daughter, who is named Malu. Lakshmi, the lead female character, is a dentist, who lives with her parents and is a Tamil Brahmin girl. Lakshmi is a very sterile girl, and because of which she is unable of finding a suitable guy for her. Meanwhile, Lakshmi meets Malu and begins to get emotionally attached to her.
Malu strives to bring Lakshmi and Sharan closer to each other. Sharan is transformed in this process into a very caring father and an affectionate husband. The actor who plays the role of Sharan is Srinish Aravin. And the role of Lakshmi is played by the very famous Tamil and Telugu actress Ramya Shankar. The remaining cast is started by Anuradha Krishnamurthy, Beena Antony, Kottayam Rasheed, Aadhithyan Jayan, Maneesh, Al Thara, Pratheesksha, Sredha, Amrita, Naveen Arakkal, Adarsh, Adhtyan, Divya, Sini Varghese, Akshaya, Megha, and Arya.

Remya Shankar was replaced by Varada, in the role of Lakshmi Vishwanatha Iyer. Megha Mahesh replaced Sredha, as the child artist who played the role of Malavaika or Malukutty. Dubbing artists who were included in this show were Sidharth for Sharan’s character and Divya for Lakshmi’s character.
