Arun Nalawade is an Indian Marathi film and theatre actor, producer and director, who earned fame and success after he acted and co-produced the Marathi film, Shwaas which was released in year 2004. The film is the official entry of India to the Oscar Awards 2004 and it received the 6th place position in the 77th Academy Award for being the Best Foreign Language Film at that time. The film also received the National Award for Best Film in year 2004. Prior to this, Shwaas have faced financial issues in showcasing and promoting the film at the Oscars. Luckily, many people contribute to make it to the Oscars including the legendary, Amitabh Bachchan and Marathi cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar. Students from the Jogeshwari create lamps and sell them to contribute to the film.In 2005, he bagged the role of Suryakant Ghodake in the movie, Kaydyacha Bola. Arun has done films like Divasen Divas, Shan and Chasme Bahaddar in 2006.
