Dr. Ishita develops a love bond with Ruhi because she can no more bear a child. She has a motherly affection towards Ruhi thus creating an obscure relationship with the father of the girl, Raman Bhalla.

Raman is a Punjabi whereas Ishita is Tamilian. During the divorce case, Raman is forced to marry Ishita to retain the custody of the child. Raman also has an 11 – year - old son whose custody is given to his estranged wife Shagun who pollutes the mind of the boy against Raman. Raman is bitter and harsh whereas Ishita is very understanding and reasonable. Raman's ex-wife Shagun gets engaged to his business rival Ashok Khanna whereas Raman, Ishita and Ruhi develop a beautiful and understanding relationship with each other. When Raman is faced by various problems created by his ex - wife and Ashok, Ishita stands as a solid wall to protect her husband and daughter. They fight back together and come out victorious.The serial was nominated for various television awards and won some of them.
