The fifth season of Mad Men, one of the most popular drama shows of its time, telecasted two shows on its premiere, on 25 March 2012. It contained only thirteen episodes, with the final episode of the season airing on 12 June 2012. Each episode had a runtime of approximately forty-forty-seven minutes, similar to that of Breaking Bad. Season 5 takes place fifty years ago on Memorial day, between 12 May 1966 to 1967.

There is something troubling him at work, and it is making everyone worry about his health. He has been coming late from work. He often calls Megan to work, even at odd times. She is worried about her career, as all she has done since joining the agency is, sit behind a desk and take calls for the Don. She was promised that she wold be an actor, but her acting career is not moving ahead. There is a detachment between the couple and Peggy needs to sort it out.

Peggy is assigned to train Bert and Megan. She not only needs to train them, but she also needs to save their marriage. Just as he is slacking off at work, he hires a new anti-social agent who goes by the name of Michael Ginsberg. He is a worrying figure at the agency as he is proving competition to both, Peggy and Don. Ginsberg is taking advantage of the firm. He can rise faster by working in it, and Peggy is worried that he might one day even go above the Don himself.

Don is considering him as his competition, and he is ready to do anything to prevent Michael from getting the spotlight. The entire agency is supporting Don, while Michael is working on his own. Michael lands a deal and goes big, which is rather troubling for Peggy. She has promised everybody that she will take care of everything.
